Megan Thee Stallion and Kendrick Lamar lead BET Hip-Hop Awards 2024 nominations

The nominees for the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards have been announced, with Megan Thee Stallion and Kendrick Lamar leading the way.

For this year’s list, it is Megan Thee Stallion who leads the way, racking up an impressive 12 nods across the nominations. Among the categories she is up for awards in are Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Collaboration, Best Live Performer, Song Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Artist Of The Year.

For the first time since the category was introduced in 2020, there are just as many female artists up for the Hip-Hop Artist Of The Year nominations – these include Megan, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj and GloRilla.

While Megan is leading the pack with 12 nods, Kendrick Lamar is a close runner-up, racking up 11 nominations this year. Most of which come from his Drake diss track ‘Not Like Us’, as well as his featured verse on the Metro Boomin’ song ‘Like That’.

The ceremony for the 2024 edition will premiere on BET on Tuesday October 15 at 8pm EST. The awards will see Fat Joe return as host for the third consecutive year.

“Joe Crack is back for the three-peat, night night baby,” Fat Joe said in a statement (via Billboard). “It’s been a dream to host the ‘BET Hip Hop Awards’ the past few years and I’m looking forward to taking things to the next level in Las Vegas.
