Megan Thee Stallion, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake lead nominees for 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards

The 2024 nominees for the 19th annual BET Hip Hop Awards have been announced and Megan Thee Stallion, Kendrick Lamar and Drake take Top 3 with the most nominations… But who’s really surprised.

Of the three, Megan takes the lead with an impressive 12 noms total, including — Song of the Year, Lyricist of the Year, Hip Hop Album of the Year, Hip Hop Artist of the Year, Hustler of the Year, Best Live Performer, Best Hip Hop VideoSweet 16: Best Featured Verse, Impact Track, and three in the category for Best Collaboration.

One beat behind with eleven nods, Kendrick’s list that looks a lot like Megs, except minus two Best Collaboration noms, and plus one for Video Director of the Year. Followed by Drake who rounds out the top three nominees with an impressive eight nods.

Not far behind the top three, Cardi B, GloRilla, Metro Boomin, and Nicki Minaj each earned seven nominations. Future and Travis Scott each follow with a close six.

Other notable nominees include 21 Savage and 41, who received four nominations each. As well as A$AP Rocky, Common, Lil Wayne, Pete Rock, and Sexyy Red, each receiving three.

Returning as co-executive producer and host, Fat Joe will help the Hip-Hop elite and us watching from home celebrate the industry’s from the past year across 17 categories.

“Joe Crack is back for the 3-peat, night night baby,” said Fat Joe. “It’s been a dream to host the ‘BET Hip Hop Awards’ the past few years and I’m looking forward to taking things to the next level in Las Vegas. We’re going to be in a new city and location, but the excitement and entertainment at the awards will be even bigger than ever.”

Switching up the locale, this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards will be taped in Las Vegas, NV on Tuesday, October 8, with the show set to air on BET, Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 8 PM ET/PT.

While most of the award winners are chosen by a prestigious voting academy of industry experts, fans can start voting for DJ of the Year, Producer of the Year and Best Hip-Hop Platform starting Friday, September 20 at 12PM ET — HERE.
