Melissa Leong had fans doing a double take on Friday as she debuted a dramatic hair transformation at the NGV Gala in Melbourne.
The Dessert Masters judge, 41, ditched her trademark jet black locks for a stunning new blonde bob, complete with an edgy, blunt front fringe.
As for her outfit, the food critic wowed in a bright red ball gown which featured a trumpet skirt and asymmetrical sleeve detailing.
Melissa also wore an array of gold Tiffany & Co. jewellery pieces, including a choker, bracelets and rings.
Her look was completed with a gold toned makeup look that perfectly accentuated the warm tone of her blonde new ‘do.
It’s unclear whether Melissa changed her hair permanently or she wore a wig for the night.
Melissa is known for pushing the boundaries when it comes to fashion, often sporting Avant Garde outfits and hairstyles on the red carpet.
In August, the former MasterChef Australia judge shared a message on Instagram reminding her followers that ‘style is subjective’.
Melissa shared the post shortly after attending the 2023 TV Week Logie Awards.
‘Your semi regular PSA that if you don’t like something someone does, or wears, you don’t always have to let the world know,’ she wrote.
‘There was a stunning array looks that showcased each wearer’s style and personality last night, and it was bloody beautiful to see. And I can tell you for free, that while this is part of our work, standing there on the carpet is a little terrifying, and a lot exposing,’ she continued.
Melissa warned her followers that fashion can be very ‘personal’, and insisted that celebrities shouldn’t be criticised for their outfits by people they don’t know.
‘To be clear, this is an observation about the way humans are so comfortable criticising women in general,’ she added.
‘Contrary to popular belief, not everything women write is coded or solipsistic.’
