Merry Little Batman Trailer Gives a First Look at the Festive DC Special

DC has released the first trailer for its festive special Merry Little Batman ahead of its Prime Video premiere on December 8.

The trailer, below, shows Batman’s son Damian Wayne’s adventures on Christmas Eve. While his dad is out fighting baddies, Damian seeks some glory of his own but accidentally comes across a villainous plot to steal Christmas and has to rise to the occasion and save the day.

The Riddler, Joker, Bane, Penguin, and Mr Freeze all feature too, and DC likely has some other iconic baddies hidden away too.

Regular Show writer Mike Roth is directing, while Luke Wilson stars as Batman, Yonas Kibreab as Damian, James Cromwell as Alfred, and David Hornsby as Joker. Morgan Evans (Teen Titans Go!) and Jase Ricci are writers while the music is by Patrick Stump.

Amazon picked up the special alongside the Batman: Caped Crusader and Bat-Family animated shows. The latter is a follow-up to Merry Little Batman and will see Damian navigate “the fun and frustrations of life as a super family” alongside Batman, Alfred, and “a few newcomers to Wayne Manor”.

A more adult version of Damian will also appear in Batman: The Brave and the Bold as part of the new DCU’s first chapter, alongside the likes of Superman: Legacy and Creature Commandos.
