Lionel Messi is keeping himself ticking over during the MLS offseason after enjoying another workout with wife Antonela and her personal trainer Bret Contreras.
Earlier this month Messi, 36, was seen training in the gym alongside Contreras, the physical therapist famous for his range of glute exercises.
Antonela has previously taken snaps from inside Contreras’ gym, dubbed the ‘Glute Lab’, with fellow Miami wag Elena Galera, the wife of Messi’s teammate and close friend Sergio Busquets. Both women have been keeping fit with the self-styled ‘booty trainer’ since moving to the US.
And on Friday, Messi appeared to have worked out alongside both his wife and Contreras at the Glute Lab as he maintains fitness almost two months before the new MLS season begins.
Conteras has a website called ‘Booty by Bret’ where he offers advice on how to ‘build your booty’ with as little as three hours work a week.
His own Instagram and business account, @BootybyBretofficial, is also packed full with advice for people to keep in top shape.
While Messi was recently away on international duty with the Argentina soccer team, Antonela headed down the Glute Lab with Galera, who shared a mirror selfie in the Miami gym with the 35-year-old.
Roccuzzo has also previously posted pictures from inside Contreras’s gym in Miami, also known as the ‘Glute House’, where she has been keeping fit since moving to the United States.
Messi is gearing up for his first full season with Miami after joining the club back in July and guiding them to their first ever trophy just a month later.
The 2022 World Cup winner, who picked up his eighth Ballon d’Or award last month, joined Inter right in the middle of the 2023 MLS season, before immediately inspiring their historic victory in the Leagues Cup.
Messi scored 11 goals in 14 games in his first half-season, taking the Herons on a 12-game win streak which also saw them reach the US Open Cup final.
It has also emerged that the Ballon d’Or legend has bought a sprawling new $10.75million estate in Fort Lauderdale which features 10 bedrooms, a spa room, two boat docks and a swimming pool.
Messi – who signed a two-and-a-half-year deal worth $50-60m a season in Major League Soccer – has been looking to expand his property portfolio since joining Inter Miami in the summer.
He already owned a luxury $9m apartment in Miami – and now has two other condos in Sunny Isles Beach, according to reports – but had recently been spotted house hunting with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and their son Thiago in the Boca Raton area.
But Messi has now signed off on a new 10,500 square-foot property within the gated community at Bay Colony, one of the floating neighborhoods north of Fort Lauderdale.
