With five Grammy Awards, after being the only female rapper with six platinum records in the USA and being among the few artists to remain in second place on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for ten weeks with the single “Work It”

of 2002, Missy Elliott is now the first female rapper to enter the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Missy Elliott aka The Queen of Hip Hop was chosen because she is “one of the most important female artists in the history of contemporary music“.

A very important recognition and not only for her, but for hip hop in general, since before her, only two rappers entered the Hall of Fame, Jay Z in 2017 and Jermaine Dupri in 2018.
