Nebraska State Patrol nabs 100 pounds of marijuana during I-80 traffic stop

A California man was arrested near York on Wednesday after 100 pounds of marijuana was discovered during a traffic stop, authorities said.

About 6:55 a.m., a Nebraska State Patrol trooper observed a Nissan Sentra driving on the shoulder of Interstate 80 near the U.S. 81 exit.

After pulling the driver over, the trooper detected an odor of marijuana coming from the car.

A search revealed a duffle bag and several trash bags containing marijuana.

The driver, from Woodland, California, was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana — more than 1 pound with intent to deliver. He was booked into the York County Jail.
