New Corrie ‘baddie’ unveiled and they have famous link

Coronation Street’s next ‘villain’ has been unveiled – but it doesn’t sound like they’ll be in Stephen Reid’s league so fans can breathe a sign of relief. A new ‘baddie’ is set to be seen on the cobbles soon as Sean Tully’s son Dylan returns to school.

The news hasn’t been confirmed by the ITV soap, however, the newcomer’s locally famous dad has revealed all. Hits Radio host Mike Toolan took to social media this week as he shared his pride at his son Luca bagging the role of a character named Mason.

He shared pictures of his son appearing to have a great time on the famous, Salford-based street with Dylan actor Liam McCheyne. The pair could be seen posing on the cobbles outside the iconic Roy’s Rolls while another snap showed them getting cosy with Liam Connor actor Charlie Wrenshall.

Sharing the pictures to Instagram, Mike wrote: “Luca has been unveiled as the new baddie (Mason) on @coronationstreet. Absolute dream come true for him. @liammccheyne here and all the amazing Corrie cast and crew have made him feel so at home.” He then sweetly added: “Unbelievably proud of him.”

Luca was quick to respond to the post, writing: “Thanks for always supporting me dad,” while Liam said: “Not my most flattering. However, a true joy to work with,” as the congratulatory messages came flooding in.

Taking to his own Instagram, Luca shared the same images as he revealed: “There’s a new kid joining the cobbles – Mason Radcliffe.” He added: “It’s an honour to be a part of a show that I’ve grown up on that has some of the warmest and most talented people. Thank you to everyone that supported me, you know who you are. Thanks God always. And my bigger smaller brothers Liam and Charlie.”

And again their was plenty of congratulations and support being shown for Luca including from his new co-star. Responding to the post, Liam wrote: “Here he is it’s a pleasure to share the screen with you champ. Here’s to many more scenes to come.”

Liam also shared a smiling selfie of the pair to his own Instagram account and wrote: “Here’s a trick that’s ready to be let out the hat. Meet Mason Radcliffe, played by the amazing @lucatoola.” He then teased: “Stay tuned to see the exciting things that are in store for Dylan and Mason. All yet to come..”
