ALL these years we’ve ass-umed the Kardashians have the best bums in the world – but now it turns out that’s a load of old tush.
Plastic surgeons have revealed it’s not about size when it comes to the most attractive rear.
The study, by surgeons at Loma Linda University in California, found a golden ‘waist to hip’ ratio of 0.65 most attractive on women when it asked 1,100 men and women for their opinion.
This translates to a more narrow waist that only flares slightly into the hips – a far cry from the extreme hourglass figure that’s become popular in recent years, sported by celebs like Kim Kardashian and Nicki Minaj.
Writing in the study, published in the peer-reviewed journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the surgeons said: “This may be a consequence of prominent exposure and desensitisation of the general population to reality stars and celebrities with curvier figures.”
In a separate study for blokes, 2,000 men and women were shown five images of male bums and asked to rate each from one to five – with five being the most attractive.

For the male booty, the most popular choice was also moderately sized, with a bit of muscle.
While the studies were carried out in the US, researchers found there were no significant differences between age groups, genders or ethnic groups when it came to which bum they preferred.
And every image participants were shown got at least one vote, so it seems there’s a butt for everyone – peachy!

1. Jennifer Lopez
Researchers found bums with a waist-to-hip ratio of 0.65 was most popular – meaning the buttocks are about 35 per cent larger than the waist.
This is similar to Jennifer Lopez’ famous bum, which she was once rumoured to have insured for £17 million – although she later denied this.
A whopping 44 per cent of respondents said this was their favourite booty.
2. Kylie Minogue
Kylie Minogue’s bum became world famous when she wore those tiny gold hot pants for her Spinning Around video in 2000.
And it’s clear people still love her slightly smaller bottom now, as the 0.60 ratio came in second place.
A quarter of the 1,100 participants gave this their thumbs up.
3. Beyonce
Coming in third was the second largest butt, with a 0.675 ratio.
One in 10 participants liked this behind the best, so it’s no wonder Beyonce’s been shaking hers all over the world on her Renaissance tour!
4. Jennifer Aniston
A ratio of 0.75 came in fourth, which means there’s not much difference between waist and butt, like Jennifer Aniston.
Jen said she used to moan that her bum wobbled, claiming it “has a tendency to go right and left and I’d like it to go up”.
She recently stripped naked for a sex scene with Jon Hamm in The Morning Show – so she’s obviously much more comfortable now.
5. Rihanna
Rihanna’s bum, with a 0.7 ratio, came in fifth in the study.
After she gave birth to her first child Rza in May 2022, the pop star confessed her bum was her favourite part of her body, and it’s changed over the years.
She told PopSugar: “Oh yeah, girl, it changed. I guarantee you it changed. I had a baby! Let’s be real. Now it’s my booty — because I got one.”
6. Kim Kardashian
Only five per cent of the participants opted for Kim K’s famous booty, seemingly wanting a more “natural” look now.
Even Kim herself seems to have slimmed down her behind in recent years with many fans claiming she’s had bum implants removed.
Although she once did an X-Ray on Keeping Up With The Kardashians to prove she didn’t have any.
7. Pippa Middleton
Pippa Middleton drove the world insane when she walked down the aisle as a bridesmaid at the Prince and Princess of Wales’ wedding in 2011.
She arguably got more attention than her sister Kate.
But it seems her athletic straight up and down figure is no longer the most lusted after, as a 0.8 ratio came in seventh.
8. Nicki Minaj
Bums with an extreme 0.55 ratio, like Nicki Minaj’s, are the least liked by most people.
Rapper Nicki has previously opened up about getting booty injections to make it bigger.
Speaking on The Joe Budden Podcast last year, she said: “It wasn’t acceptable to have surgery at all or anything. At that time, I had never had surgery. I had ass shots.
“I was in Atlanta at the time and . . . I kept on being around Lil Wayne and them. At that time Wayne, he talking about big booties.
“Wayne would have a new chick in the studio every session so it was always a new big booty there. They were his muses.”
Here come the boys…
1. Alexander Skarsgard
When it came to the men, results showed a gluteal trochanteric index (GTI) of 0.66 was most popular, scoring an average of 3.1 out of 5.
This was measured by dividing the distance from the thinnest point of the waist to the bottom of the buttocks by the widest point of the buttocks.
Dr Ashit Patel, a plastic surgeon in North Carolina who led the study, explained this means “raters thought the ideal male buttocks shouldn’t be too wide and should retain the characteristic dimple on the sides”.
Actor Alexander Skarsgård is the proud owner of this bum – which is probably why he’s stripped down for so many of his roles, including in True Blood and Infinity Pool.
2. Channing Tatum
A bum with a ratio of 0.64, like Channing Tatum‘s, came in a close second, getting an average rating of 3.
The Hollywood actor played a stripper in Magic Mike, but he also got naked for his role in The Lost City.
The film’s director Adam Nee even confessed he has “the best butt on a man”.
3. Justin Bieber
A ratio of 0.68 wasn’t far behind with an average score of 2.9.
Justin Bieber is a celeb with a similar bum to this, and has often proudly flashed his behind for his fans.
4. John Legend
A 0.62 ratio butt, like John Legend has, came fourth – but his wife Chrissy Teigen is clearly a big fan.
She once uploaded a snap of his naked behind on social media during a drunken night together.
