Nicole Kidman is in her experimental beauty era. She recently revealed a super-light blonde choppy bob in behind the scenes shots of her Balenciaga campaign. While at the weekend she reverted back to long hair, but still a more sun-kissed strawberry blonde hue than we’ve seen of late.
Now she’s serving up fresh nail inspiration, too.
When it comes to Gen Z’s favourite nail shape, almond nails win every time. Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner are already fans, especially as the shape can be combined with almost any nail design.
But where there’s often a lack of manicure inspiration on social media is for short almond-shaped nails. Until now, that is, as Nicole has just proved that the nail shape works with any length.

The actress paired her French nails with a sparkly gold sequin dress for the 49th Annual AFI Lifetime Achievement Awards Gala on April 27 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

The very next day, Nicole Kidman showed that this classic manicure really is the perfect choice for any occasion. As a speaker on a panel, she wore a semi-transparent outfit with a striking white collar and her almond French nails also looked tailor-made for this fashion statement, too.
The nail shape and length could definitely be a reason for this.
Almond-shaped nails: how to combine the nail shape with short nails
Celebrity nail artist Thuy Nguyen is behind Nicole Kidman’s versatile new manicure. For the Oscar winner’s nails, she opted for a combination that is rarely seen: short and almond-shaped, instead of long and square.
The rest of the look stayed true to the traditional French, though: a nude-pink base tone and fairly wide white nail tips.
But what makes the almond-shaped nail so special? To create the look, nails are filed straight at the sides, becoming narrower towards the ends in order to create a natural curve at the tip.
For a long time, almond-shaped nails dropped in popularity as they were thought to make fingers look wider on short nails. As Nicole Kidman artfully shows, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
