Sports performance eyewear brand Oakley has opened a new store on London’s popular fashion shopping destination Carnaby Street. And to ensure maximum publicity for the event, Oakley athlete and Women’s England footballer Alessia Russo was on hand to welcome fans to the new space.

Oakley Carnaby Street becomes the brand’s second retail store in the UK, joining the longstanding located in Covent Garden. It features an extensive selection of best-selling eyewear, such as Kato, Sutro, and Holbrook, together with apparel, footwear, accessories and more.

Stefano Melani, GM of parent Luxottica Retail UK said the store “will help bring our community physically closer to Oakley’s brand DNA.”

With a host of eyewear stores having opened in London this year it will be important for Oakley to maintain its visibility by adding a second store in the capital.

And, of course, its closer links to sport means the brand has always chosen big names from various performance athletes. This year it signed a multi-year partnership with French star footballer and Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé, appearing in its ‘Be Who You Are’ campaign film, which chronicles his sporting journey and highlights his individual attitude and spirit.

Additionally, Oakley has partnerships with England cricketer Jofra Archer, GB skateboarder Tom Knox and Muslim cycling advocate Shuhena Islam.
