Oklahoma quarterback General Booty has entered the transfer portal, according to a report from On3 Sports.
Booty only made two appearances for Oklahoma over the last two seasons while serving as the backup for starter Dillon Gabriel. Gabriel’s transfer to Oregon this offseason opened the door for Booty to have a shot at the starting job, but he will instead seek an opportunity elsewhere.
Booty recently appeared in Oklahoma’s spring game on April 20, where he rushed for a 32-yard touchdown.
Prior to joining Oklahoma, Booty spent his lone junior college season at Tyler Junior College in 2021. He started all 12 games that season and threw for 3,410 yards and 27 touchdowns.
Booty starred at Allen High School in 2020, where contributed to the Eagles’ 84-game regular season winning streak. In Booty’s senior season, Allen lost in the 2020 regional semifinal round to Euless Trinity.
While he didn’t get much time on the field for the Sooners, Booty capitalized on his namesake through a name, image and likeness deal. He partnered with company Rock ‘Em Socks on an underwear line last year.
