Louisiana-Monroe is set to name Oklahoma transfer General Booty its starting quarterback, a source tells 247Sports and CBS Sports.
After entering the transfer portal May 2, Booty committed to ULM May 16 and is now in line to be the Warhawks’ starting QB under first-year head coach Bryant Vincent.
ULM opens the season against Jackson State next week before matchups against UAB and Texas.
Before leaving Oklahoma, Booty had a 32-yard touchdown run during the Sooners’ spring game. He spent 2022 and 2023 at Oklahoma after a year at Tyler Junior College in Texas. At Tyler, Booty threw for 3,410 yards and 27 touchdowns. His average of 284.2 passing yards per game ranked second-best at the junior college level in 2021.
As a high school senior at Allen High School in Texas, the former three-star recruit accumulated 2,235 passing yards, 401 rushing yards and 35 total touchdowns.
