Once Again, Defense Gives Up The Booty
November 10th, 2024
Not only are the Bucs a bad team — 4-6 — it is very obvious to Joe:
The Bucs defense simply cannot be trusted in the fourth quarter.
For a moment today, it appeared the Bucs may win their first game of the season in which their opponent scored first. San Francisco did everything in their power to give this game away.
Three missed field goals. A shocking series of defensive penalties. They sort of escaped. The Bucs could only muster a field goal on their final drive.
Only one stop needed to get to overtime. One stop.
Ha!
It took the 49ers six plays to set up for the game-winning field goal. Six plays! 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy never saw a third down. He never threw an incomplete pass. Six attempts; six completions.
Sickening.
“Not finishing,” Bucs outside linebacker Joe Tryon-Shoyinka said of that final drive. “We’re just playing three, three-and-a-half quarters.
“We need to finish.”
JTS denied the Bucs defense was worn out from the hot day.
“I felt good,” JTS said. “We’re just not finishing.”
Well, if the Bucs defense doesn’t learn to finish soon, then the season will be finished.
That’s now two games in a row the Bucs had their opponent march down the field for a win like they were practicing against camp meat in underwear football.
Playoffs? The first thing the Bucs have to do is figure out how to fix this defense. Or someone very high up the food chain at One Buc Palace will fix the defense for them.
