Online auction to see luxury items seized by CAB up for sale
Diamond-encrusted watches and some of the world’s most expensive designer handbags are included in the 130 seized items to be auctioned off for the Criminal Assets Bureau before Christmas.
Wilson’s Auctions will hold the online sale of luxury items seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act, opening for bids on November 29 and closing on December 2.
Money from the sale will go back to the State.
The proceeds of crime seized include a Hermés Birkin 30 bag, called after singer and actress Jane Birkin, which usually sells for tens of thousands of euro, with one selling for £236,750 (€284,337) in 2018 featuring 18-karat white gold and diamond hardware.
The assets listed in Wilson’s auction catalogue include many other handbags, including a Hermès Constance 24, Saint Laurent Crystal Embellished Velvet Small Monogram Kate, Louis Vuitton Montsouris BB Backpack, Louis Vuitton Speedy 30, Louis Vuitton Carryall, Christian Louboutin Nappa Spikes Chain Wallet, Jimmy Choo Clemmie Clutch, Chanel Medallion Single Flap Shoulder Bag, and a Chanel Mini Rectangle Bag.
