Former OU quarterback General Booty announced his commitment to Louisiana Monroe on Wednesday.
Booty began his career at Tyler Junior College, where he threw for 3,410 yards and 27 touchdowns as a freshman. He then transferred to OU in 2022, and he made two appearances in two seasons without attempting any passes.
Booty entered the transfer portal on May 2. He’s now heading to the state of Louisiana, where his family has numerous ties.
Booty’s father, Abram, played wide receiver at LSU from 1997-2000. His uncle, Josh, also played quarterback for the Tigers from 1999-2000.
Booty joins a Louisiana Monroe team that went 2-10 (0-8 Sun Belt Conference) last season. He’ll compete for the starting quarterback spot with junior Hunter Herring, who threw for 121 yards and one touchdown in two games last season.
