Our Favorite Mascot Just Got a Fresh New Manicure

New York Liberty’s beloved mascot, Ellie the Elephant, only needed one thing to complete her signature look, and she just got it, thanks to Essie. The nail care brand just added the Brooklyn icon to its team and announced Ellie, also known as Big Ellie, as the brand’s celebrity spokesperson, well, spokes-elephant. Does this make her an influencer now?

Ellie will be sporting the brand’s gel polishes on and off the court and putting them to the test during half time, so we’ll see if the polish can withstand twerking, splits, and TikTok dances. If you’re wondering, her go-to shade is dopamine rush, a turquoise that matches her Rare Breed BX jersey dress. It’s a more than fitting collab, Ellie has a distinct style all her own. The mascot’s tunnel walk often features jersey dresses, matching Nike sneakers and Liberty’s colors added to her braids. We can’t forget her wispy lashes. She also rolled out the news in style with Tefi Pessoa, and a custom Essie Jacket paired with a mini skirt. The season tip-off starts soon, so that means lots of nail art opportunities for our favorite mascot and team.
