On Saturday, Aug. 10, horned helmets and shaggy fur took over Lake Kegonsa, as the Lake Kegonsa Sailing Club (LKSC) Viking Pillage and Plunder hauled in 30 pounds of food and $165 for the Stoughton Food Pantry.
In spite of some challenging conditions, 21 intrepid Vikings–both sailors and landlubbers–worked their way around the lake, pillaging food from secret locations, skillfully firing water weapons and feasting at Springers afterwards. The overall winner was Capt. Jeff Newquist.
Afterwards, our Night Sail featured five boats enjoying more moderate winds, with Best Lit being Capt. Joel Sheldon. Mange Tusen Takk to Capt. Alan Carlson and crew for running the safety boat for both events!!
And the season isn’t over; there’s plenty of nautical fun left for those interested in sailing: Fun races – now Wednesdays (anyone is welcome to crew -go to lksc.org for more information).
