Pinterest Predicts These Will Be The Biggest Trends of Fall 2024

Fall tends to feel like the right time to recreate yourself, and Pinterest predicts trends will reflect that in autumn 2024. Rather than cozy up and settle in with old classics like latte nails and pumpkin spice perfumes, people are making dynamic, fresh beauty choices from bold hair colors to detailed manicures. Here, we break down Pinterest’s Fall 2024 Trend Report. We had fun ticking off the trends we want to try and noting the ones we might steer clear of.

Nail art

Nail art has taken on a life of its own on the internet. Neutral nails just don’t cut it anymore for the top trend makers, as everyone’s opting for bold designs. Global cultures are influencing manicures, with Japenese inspired nails surging over 600 percent and Greek goddess nails seeing a 1,975 percent bump.

All things coquette and demure have seen a surge in interest—remember when there was a bow on practically everything? That trend will carry into fall, with bow nail designs seeing a 2,200 percent rise in interest. But it’s not all cute and dainty—short funky nails are also booming with an increase of over 1,540 percent.

Big bang theory

Bangs have had some serious staying power over the past couple of years. Now that people are comfortable with starter fringes like curtain bangs and subtle bangs (which aren’t going anywhere with a 1,900 percent search increase), they’re ready to try some more statement-making styles. Long pixie cuts with bangs and mini bangs are on the rise, but the most notable new trend is Japanese side bangs. And although we thought we’d seen the last of them, there’s renewed interest in 2000s side bangs.

Red and honey hues

The most impressive jump in interest on the list was honey brown curls, with a 7,770 percent surge. Similarly, honey brown knotless braids are up 3,845 percent, so be prepared to see a lot of this color in fall. Red hair has steadily been climbing the trend charts, and this fall, the shade will be in full gear with cherry blonde, deep cherry red hair and cherry cola red all seeing a peak in interest.

Makeup moves

Soft baddie makeup has a 700 percent surge in interest, which tracks because it’s essentially a blend of the two biggest trends right now—Brat and demure. Cool tone makeup looks are already everywhere, and Pinterest predicts there’s no stopping them next season. Classics like glowy dewy makeup and glossy lips makeup are seeing a steady climb as well. Last, and maybe least, we’re sorry to announce that according to Pinterest, concealer lips might make a comeback with a 92 percent bump in interest.
