TIRUPATI: Tirupati district police wing have arrested seven notorious thieves involved in multiple house break-in offences and recovered stolen property worth approximately Rs.35 lakh from the possession of the accused on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters at the district police office on Wednesday, Tirupati SP V Harshavardhan Raju stated that the accused broke into a house at Sankar Naidu colony at Tiruchanoor and decamped with jewellery and other valuables on Feb 15.
Following a case being registered at the Tiruchanoor police station based on the complaint lodged by the victim B Ambuja, Special teams led by Tiruchanoor CI B Suneel Kumar zeroed in on the accused near Mullapudi on Wednesday.
The accused arrested by the police were identified as M Tharun, A Naveen, D Jagadish, P Vignesh, A Penchalaiah, M Tejesh and M Lokanadha Reddy.
Police recovered gold ornaments weighing 501 grams, silver articles weighing 2.1 kgs, a car, an autorickshaw and a scooty from the possession of the accused.
Tirupati SP stated that all the accused arrested by the police were seasoned offenders who were booked in multiple similar cases registered against them across the district in the past.
