While everyone may be familiar with the popular Hermès Kelly and Birkin bags that costs tens of thousands of dollars, there are a whole host of other purses made by the pricey brand that are just as exclusive.
Real Housewives of New York star Sai De Silva, 43, has lifted the lid on some of the label’s other artisanal designs, a handful of which cost just as much, or more, than a Kelly or Birkin bag.
De Silva, who is known for her popular blog Scout the City, detailed the other handbags in a video that was posted to TikTok last month.
The first bag that the content creator showed was the Hermès Constance Wallet To Go, which is priced at over $5,000.
The model that De Silva owned featured gold hardware and was made of calfskin in a light, neural tan color.
‘I literally wore this bag, like, two times,’ De Silva said, as she showed it to the camera.
She then opened it up to show viewers the inside of the bag, which was separated into two compartments.
‘It also comes with a strap, so you can just kind of throw it over like so,’ she explained, as she modeled what it looked like on the body.
‘Very cute,’ she commented.
According to ReBag, a Constance bag from Hermès reportedly takes anywhere from 14 to 18 hours to make, as they are handcrafted by a single craftsman.
For comparison, a Birkin bag typically takes a minimum of 18 hours to craft, and is marked with a special code indicating what year it was made, which workshop it was made in and the artisan who created it, per Sotheby’s.
Hermès boutiques around the world can only purchase a certain amount and style of Birkin bags bi-annually, and rarely know what they will look like ahead of time.
Next up in De Silva’s collection was the new model of the Drag, which she owned in size 22.
The bag sells for over $12,000 in the secondary resale market.
The Bravo star explained that the purse comes with a strap that attaches to the two loops on either side of the bag, hers in a mint green color.
‘The thing about this bag is that I end up not wanting to put the straps on, because I always have to roll it and put the strap back because it’s so thick,’ she said.
But despite that, De Silva admitted that the color is ‘very fun’ for the summer.
‘Also made out of calfskin, adorable, but if you scratch it, it definitely will scratch,’ she added.
De Silva then revealed a bag that was actually her first from Hermès, one that she bought herself when she was visiting Paris.
It’s unclear exactly how much De Silva bought it for, but her exact model is selling on Sotheby’s for $10,600.
‘This is is the 24/24 in a size 29,’ De Silva said, holding up the leather bag that she owned in a gorgeous, royal blue color with darker blue and gold hardware.
However, De Silva did admit that she wanted the bag in size 21, not 29.
‘This also comes with a strap,’ she continued. ‘The strap is very small, so it’s not going to be a crossover.’
As she stood up to model the bag in the video, the blogger explained that she typically holds it by its handle and leaves it open.
‘You can also put it on the shoulder like so, but again, I don’t like the way it leans outward like that, so I just kind of hold it on to the side,’ she said, showing viewers how the bag looks on. ‘But it does fit a lot.’
Last but not least, De Silva showcased her Hermès Picotin in a size 18 with silver hardware.
‘This, I feel like is a very sought-after bag as well as the Constance On The Go,’ she explained, as she showed off the bag, which she had in chestnut brown color, to the camera.
‘The leather on this one, I forgot what kind of leather it is but it smells amazing, it’s also very soft,’ she continued. ‘You cannot wear this in the rain because it will stain.’
De Silva opened up the bag to show viewers what the inside looks like, as it’s held together with a single clasp.
‘The inside, I would say, you definitely have to put your stuff in some sort of a pouch, because you don’t want it to come out, but you just tighten the strap like so it closes,’ the RHONY star advised.
‘I also think it’s a really great bag and then you just hold it like this,’ she said as she stood up to show how she wears it, by just holding it at the top of its handles.
The bag typically sells from anywhere around $4,500 to $5,500, per Sotheby’s.
In the comments section of her video, many seemed fascinated by De Silva’s collection of Hermès bags.
‘I feel like I just enrolled in Hermès university. Love it!’ one person wrote.
Another admitted, ‘These are so much prettier than the Kelly and Birkin tbh.’
‘I would use the Hermès wallet bag over the Kelly or Birken. I actually like it the best,’ someone else typed.
