“Role players pullin all the baddies” – NBA fans abuzz over Hornets forward photo with Ashley Nicole Moss

NBA fans were surprised to see Charlotte Hornets forward Grant Williams spending time “off the clock” with a reporter for CBS Sports, Ashley Nicole Moss. The two hung out at the 2nd Annual Grant Williams Family Foundation (GWFF) Golf Tournament. Photos of them were posted on social media.

While Williams isn’t a huge name in the league, he’s still involved with charity work and collaborates with different organizations. Fans will recognize him as a “role player” on the team.

According to Moss’ post on X, formerly Twitter, the Hornets forward invited her to the event.

“2nd Annual GWFF Golf Tournament ⛳️ thanks for having me @Grant2Will!” Moss posted.

Fans took the chance to share their thoughts on seeing both Williams and Moss together.

“The NBA is so funny. The Role players pullin all the baddies and the Superstars are getting IG BBL demons pregnant… smh…” one fan said.

“He’s wayyyyyy too close Ashley 🙄🙄🙄,” another fan was feeling a bit jealous.

“How the f**k does Grant pull this s**t off,” a fan was flabbergasted.

Other fans admitted that they were slow to read the caption, as some of them assumed the two were dating.

“I was about to become the biggest Grant Williams hater 😒,” a fan said.

“Lmao the hater was creeping out till i read the caption,” another fan said.

“Damn my heart skipped a beat until I read the caption,” one fan shared.

NBA star unfollowed Moss and it sparked rumors

Looking at Moss’ social media activities, her followers can see how closely she works with players. The journalist often meets players during events or they reach out to her to come to their events. Because of that, she has a solid following from the players around the league.

However, fans were surprised to find out that one star unfollowed Moss before the offseason started. According to an X account called NBA Alerts, which closely monitors players’ social media activities, Donovan Mitchell unfollowed the reporter.

The Cleveland Cavaliers star unfollowed the reporter back in June. Fans quickly assumed that the All-Star guard was reportedly “friend zoned” and decided to stop pursuing Moss. However, there is no evidence that this is true.
