Manchester dressed up in bald caps and sunglasses to pay homage to US rapper and singer Pitbull ahead of his huge show at Co-op Live.

The ‘Rain Over Me’ star was taking to the stage for his Party After Dark tour to a sold-out audience at the 23,500-capacity arena.

Pictures showing queues outside the venue showed swathes of fans wearing bald caps, white shits and black blazers, some also donning drawn-on goatee beards.

But ‘hundreds’ dressed in the Pitbull-esc attire were also seen in the city centre ahead of the show and travelling to the venue which caught the eye of passers-by.

“I was so confused walking through town,” one person said. “There was genuinely hundreds of people walking around in black blazers, white shirts and with bald caps either with sunglasses on or drawn-on goatees.

“Then I realised it’s because Pitbull is on. I was so confused. I’ve never seen so many people dressed the same like that for a gig.”

The fancy dress attire also made its way to X, formerly Twitter, as one person penned: “Seeing so many bald baddies in Manchester I’m so jealous of you all I wish I was seeing Mr Worldwide.”

As another posted: “you haven’t felt true freedom until you’ve walked through Manchester dressed as Pitbull in broad daylight,” followed by: “The amount of baldies is astonishing.”
