Selena Gomez is always very reliable when it comes to manicures. She constantly delivers colourful trends that we absolutely want to copy, such as her recent peach champagne nails at the 2025 Oscars or her trendy cobalt blue manicure.
If her past few manis are any indication, it’s clear her nail trends will be incorporating more colour for spring. Case in point: her latest lavender milk nails, created by celebrity nail artist Tom Bachik.

Bachik showed off the fresh mani on Instagram. Not only are Gomez’s nails super clean, but they have also been painted in a dreamy lilac, reminiscent of lavender milk. Just like the popular blueberry milk nails trend, lavender milk nails are a pastel purple that looks approachable, soft, and warm. And that’s it! The colour alone is enough to make the manicure a real eye-catcher — it speaks for itself. Nevertheless, we noticed another important feature. Selena Gomez has almost always worn her nails in an almond shape. But she surprised us with a completely different nail shape, namely the ballerina shape.
The ballerina nail, also known as the coffin nail, is characterised by its elegant and modern look, reminiscent of a ballet shoe or a coffin. It’s similar to the stiletto shape, but with a straight, flattened tip instead of a pointed one.
The perfect ballerina shape requires the right technique: The sides are filed straight, and the tip is filed flat — this creates the elegant, feminine look. As the narrow edges are somewhat more delicate, it helps to reinforce them with gel or acrylic, especially if you have long nails. The ballerina shape really comes into its own in a medium nail length. Always take care of your nails by applying a nail oil.
