Jesse and Michelle Lally opened up about their initial meeting on Tuesday’s new episode of The Valley, and Michelle admitted that she knew immediately that he wasn’t “the one.”
Weeks after confirming their separation ahead of the premiere of the Vanderpump Rules spinoff, Jesse and Michelle were seen looking back on their first interaction with one another and explaining how their since-ended romance began.
“You know, we had an office meeting, and I was like, ‘Why don’t we meet for coffee?’” Jesse recalled. Michelle then shared her own perspective.
“We were supposed to just have a date that night. And I was like, okay, let’s just meet so I know you’re not crazy,” she revealed. “He talked so much. He didn’t ask me one word. Well I said, Okay, I’m not going to take him seriously. I can just have fun with him. So I text him at midnight, come over right now.”
After receiving Michelle’s text, Jesse continued, he ventured to Michelle’s house, where they embarked on a years-long relationship.
“I walked in and immediately took off her jean shorts, and we have been together ever since,” he explained.
Meanwhile, speaking to the cameras, Michelle admitted that she hadn’t told the full story about how she felt about Jesse to her castmates.
“Here’s the real story. We had coffee, I knew he was not the One. But I was very attracted to him,” she explained in a confessional. “ I canceled our first date. I ended up going out partying with my girlfriends, getting super drunk and I wanted a booty call. So, I was like, I’m just going to call this guy… Now, I’m in the world’s longest booty call.”
Although Michelle and Jesse’s relationship started out casually, they got engaged in November 2017 and married in 2018. Then, in 2020, they welcomed daughter Isabella.
Also on Tuesday’s The Valley, Jesse told Jax Taylor that things between him and Michelle were “bad.”
“[Our life coach] is like, ‘Don’t touch her. Don’t make comments about her a**.’ Because she said she was uncomfortable when I said how hot she was,” he said. “We are so far past the compliment thing that she feels like when I say it, it is fake.”
“Michelle used to show up at my house wearing a trench coat and I used to tie her up and pour hot wax on her. Now, I can’t even get a candle lit in my own house without her saying, ‘That doesn’t smell right,’” he added.
Amid their drama on the show, Michelle told Us Weekly she had no regrets about opening her real life up to the cameras.
“People said, ‘When you watch the show, you’re going to realize how you guys actually are,’ because when you’re in it, you don’t actually know,” she told the outlet last month. “Taking a step back and looking at myself, I’m like, ‘Oh wow. It’s obvious we have some marital issues.’”
“I want fans to know how real we were. We’re very authentic. We didn’t fake anything and we said if we’re going to do reality TV, we’re really going to open up our lives — the positive and the negative,” she added.
The Valley season one airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
