They saw nothing but Booty for five furlongs at Caymanas Park

Champion jockey Reyan Lewis piloted Ian Parsard’s speedy BOOTYLICIOUS to an easy win down in class among overnight allowance runners on Sunday at Caymanas Park, clocking 1:00.0 for five furlongs round.

BOOTYLICIOUS, third last time out behind ABILITY and I AM FRED in higher open-allowance company, ripped splits of 23.4 and 47.0 to run MONEY MARKET and imported CHOCOMO off their legs after the first half-furlong.

Showing her class and terrifying speed, four-year-old BOOTYLICIOUS, last year’s Thornbird Stakes winner against subsequent classic winners THALITA and MAMMA MIA, left post position three quickly to dismiss rivals by six-and-a-quarter lengths as the 1-2 favourite.

MONEY MARKET out-finished CHOCOMO for second, whereas seven-year-old LABAN closed for fourth, with none posing a threat to the winner at any point.

Meanwhile, title-chasing Raddesh Roman rode a three-timer to move within seven winners of leading rider Tevin Foster after both jockeys partnered two winners apiece on Saturday.

Starting the day with a 72-62 advantage, Foster went winless on the nine-race card, while Roman made all in his races aboard BLINKIN LIGHT, OASIS JAK and SO BEAUTIFUL.

BLINKIN LIGHT and OASIS JAK at five furlongs straight in the fourth and fifth events, followed by SO BEAUTIFUL at six furlongs in the John Clifton Wright Memorial Cup for three-year-old maidens, kept the battle alive between the riders hunting their first career titles.

Robert Halledeen rode two winners, GOD OF LOVE, first surviving a stewards’ enquiry and jockey’s objection in the first event from second-past-the-post POWER RANKING with Shavon Townsend.

Halledeen returned in the closing event to make all at five and a half furlongs with champion trainer Jason DaCosta’s MOTIVATE ME BABY.

Racing continues on Saturday.
