Trina: “Hip-Hop Is Owned By Women, Especially GloRilla”

Everybody loves GloRilla, especially the Diamond Princess herself, Trina.

In a new interview with TMZ, Da Baddest Chick is beaming with pride over the current surge of women dominating hip-hop. She’s delighted to see the genre’s transformation and the new spirit of camaraderie blossoming among female rappers as one of the genre’s pioneers.

While talking to Harvey and co-host, her admiration for this new wave of talent was evident as she singled out rising star GloRilla as one of the year’s most impressive rappers. The “FNF” hitmaker had an incredible 2024, which included the release of her debut album, Glorious, last week.

Trina said the twin sisterhood in hip-hop has grown stronger than ever even though the female rap scene wasn’t always so united. In her new memoir, Da Baddest, she touches on these shifting dynamics and her own industry experiences. The book offers a raw look at her journey, detailing the highs and lows of navigating the male-dominated music world.

Trina and GloRilla first collaborated on the remix of “Nut Quick” last year, and since then, Trina has been admiring Glo’s rise to stardom. The Memphis-born rapper has been making waves with her music and left a lasting impression on fans and industry veterans alike.

Trina praised GloRilla’s performance on Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer tour, where Glo also shared the stage with her “cousin,” Cardi B, further cementing her place in the hip-hop spotlight.

GloRilla’s debut album is expected to be the highest-selling hip-hop album by a female artist in 2024. The album features Kirk Franklin, T-Pain, Megan Thee Stallion, Sexyy Red, Bossman Dlow, Latto, and Fridayy. It includes the hit song “Hollon.” After hearing her debut, Jelly Roll asked to be part of GloRilla’s next album on Sunday (October 13).

Trina’s Da Baddest is available now on Amazon.
