Two held for burglary, booty worth Rs 9L recovered

Hyderabad: The Alwal police late on Sunday arrested two people for their involvement in the burglary and recovered stolen property worth over Rs 9 lakh from their possession. The arrested were identified as M Kousik (19), a daily wager, and B Ravi Teja (20), a salesperson at a clothing store.
According to police officials, the duo, natives of Hasmathpet, are childhood friends. They took to burglary to make easy money. On March 27, they went to a catering job at Alwal. After completing the work, they searched for locked houses and found one at Laxmi Nagar in Alwal. They broke open the main door and a locker inside the house and looted gold jewellery.
Police, who analysed footage from over 100 CCTV cameras, identified the bike used in the crime and traced its owner, Kousik. Using the clues, police arrested them late on Sunday and recovered 12.3 tolas of gold and a bike from them, said an official. They were produced before the court, which sent them to judicial remand.
