WALMART shoppers have been raving over the chain’s duped version of the highly expensive Hermes Birkin bag.
But in a surprise move, the chain appears to have axed the dupe and removed it from the Walmart website following a surge of shoppers.

Walmart has long been associated with affordability, but it has begun making waves in the luxury product space and recently launched the dupe of the iconic Birkin bag from Hermes.
Dubbed the Wirkin, the dupe purse is 99% cheaper than the original Hermes bag and has repeatedly sold out on Walmart’s website.
While the luxury original sells for upwards of $9,000, Walmart’s comes in at just $78 to $102, depending on the seller and size.
Multiple third parties are selling the bags on Walmart’s website, with several colors and models to choose from.

However, one of the popular listings has vanished from the retailer’s website, with a “We couldn’t find this page” message and an error symbol popping up.
The “Leather Handbags Platinum Tote Bag” dupe, priced at $79.99, was available on the Walmart website on Monday with just one of 10 color options not yet sold out.
It is not clear whether the bag has sold out or if the product page was removed for another reason.
Walmart did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Although the duped purse is no longer available on the retailer’s website, Walmart shoppers can still choose from a variety of other Birkin dupes.
For example, the retail giant is selling an even cheaper Hermes copycat for just $56.87.
The Mini Leather Handbag comes in dark grey and functions as a handbag or crossbody, thanks to its adjustable shoulder strap.

Additionally, prospective buyers may need to build a relationship with a sales associate and have a history of luxury purchases with Hermes to increase their chances of being offered a Birkin bag.
Walmart’s version of the designer bags has taken social media by storm by making luxury more accessible to shoppers on a budget.
Endless TikTok videos have appeared under the #walmartbirkin hashtag, showing shoppers unboxing their Walmart Birkin bags, sharing styling tips, and hyping up the quality of the dupes.
Luxury fanatics, on the other hand, are not so fond of the copycat bags.
Many argue that the dupes detract from the exclusivity of the original, even calling the Walmart Birkin a “complete disregard” for the craftsmanship required for Hermes to handmake them.
Other critics claimed the fake bags promoted fast fashion and said they would never buy one because they “like quality too much.”
Walmart isn’t the only retailer profiting from duped products.
