This partnership is more than just music—it’s an exploration of bridging generational divides between millennials and ama2K. Boity, 34, explained the significance of their collaboration, stating, “Roiii and I are quite far apart in age, music has no age that’s why we were able to meet each other creatively in the studio.”

Known for her breakout 2018 hit, Wuz Dat, featuring Nasty C, she has cemented her place as one of South Africa’s top-selling woman rappers. Their latest single, Oh My (OMG)!, showcases their unique styles and perspectives.

Roiii (21) known for his hit La Vida Loca, expressed his excitement about working with Boity, noting:

She caught my attention as she was doing well in the drill sphere… it was lovely to see her in that light and I wanted to bring her to my world.

Reflecting on their connection, Roiii added, “As the connection matured, we started enjoying each other’s company. We somehow mirrored each other’s artistry despite our age.”

He also emphasised the importance of appealing to South African women, saying:

Coming under a male-dominated group, I didn’t get to appeal to females. I would like to shine a light on them and make them realise how much they are loved and valued.

For Boity, this project represents a return to music with a renewed perspective.

She shared:

The difference between the Boity who first started close to a decade ago to now is that her drive is different. It felt like that time was my first run and I’m on my second lap. There’s a sense of comfort and ease this time around.

As they embark on this historic project, Boity and Roiii are not just making music; they are reshaping the landscape of South African hip-hop and proving that talent and vision transcend age and genre boundaries.
