WATCH | New nail salon opens on Albert Pike

Blink Nail Spa, 1910 Albert Pike Road, Suite G, opens its doors today for its soft opening through Oct. 31.

Kat Ha and Liam Le are co-owners of the business. Ha has been in the industry for about a year and a half, while Le has been in the industry for five.

The married couple of two years moved to Hot Springs from West Virginia recently to be closer to Le’s family, who will work at the salon with them, Ha said.

“He just wanted to be closer to his family,” she said. “And then we want to open, like a family business to work together.

“It’s just more comfortable to work with family and have your own business.”

Although they have experience in the industry, this will be their first experience in owning their own business, Ha said.

“I enjoy making them feel satisfied after getting their nails done and making them happy when they get new nails or get their toes painted, things like that,” she said. “And for (Le), he likes doing crazy designs, loves doing long nails, all that art stuff.

“We do all kinds of nails from basic to design. For pedicures, we have four kinds, ranging from $35-70. $70 is the Blink special.”

Blink Nail Spa is named after Ha’s favorite K-pop music group, Blackpink. Blink is the mixture of the words black and pink, she said. The group’s fans call themselves blink, so Ha decided to name the business after the name, she said.

“The Blink pedicure is actually infused with rose oil and activated charcoal, which is black,” she said. “It has good benefits, too, so I mix them together. And for the Blink pedicure, we’ll remove calluses for people that have bad calluses. And we’ll also have hot stone massage and then hot wax and a 20-minute massage, hot towels as well.”

Ha and Le’s goal in opening Blink Nail Spa was to provide their customers with a feeling of home, she said. Not only offering services, such as artificial nails, manicures, pedicures, and waxing, the salon also offers a comfortable waiting area and provides drinks, she said.

“We’ll try to provide a family-feel place, make them feel at home,” she said. “That’s why I set up this lounge. It’s like a living room area while they’re waiting for getting their nails done and stuff. (It’ll) feel at home. That’s what we want to do.”

Not only does Blink Nail Salon strive to make their customers feel at home, but they also strive to keep them safe by keeping everything sanitized and clean, Ha said.

“We sanitize every tool that we use and also the jets that we use in the pedicure,” she said. “We sanitize after every use.”

Open seven days a week, the salon will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
