Looking for a simple way to upgrade your everyday manicure? Opt for a glitter ombré nail design.
“Glitter ombré is a great way to add a fun twist to your manicure that instantly elevates any look,” says nail artist and Nailing Hollywood CEO Mazz Hanna. “It’s perfect for special occasions and even everyday glam. Plus, with a wide range of glitter shades and base colors to choose from, the possibilities are endless when it comes to glitter ombre nails.”
To prove it, we rounded up 25 glitter ombré nail designs. Find your fave, below.
Holographic Ombré Glitter Nails
Glitter might be sparkly and head-turning, but with a creamy pale pink base, it can almost pose as neutral. Nailing Hollywood artist Rachel Joseph created this look using Dazzle Dry Nail Lacquer ($22) in the shade Peacefully Me as the base andthe brand’s Diamond Nail Lacquer ($22) for the glitter. “If you’re not familiar with Dazzle Dry, it’s an innovative polish formula that applies and removes like regular polish but wears similar to gel,” Hanna says. “It also dries completely within five minutes of applying.”
Rainbow Ombré Glitter French Manicure
Ombré glitter nail designs come in many different forms. Here, you can see how sparkly, shade-shifting French tips can look. The colors used here are Holo Taco’s Rainbow Bundle ($91).
’90s-Inspired Pink Ombré Glitter Nails
This bubblegum pink ombré glitter nail design, with its chunky, colorful glitter, reminds us of the ’90s. Unfortunately, all of the polishes used to create it have been discontinued, so you’ll have to take this picture to your manicurist as a source of inspiration.
Neon Skittle Ombré Glitter Nails
This neon rainbow Skittle ombré Glitter nail look might look familiar—the glitter used on it is the same as the pink manicure above. For a similar look, pick out the rainbow colors of your choice and use a sponge to dab them on for an ombré application. Top each nail off with a confetti-esque glitter polish, extending it halfway down the nail. Finish with top coat.
3D Glitter Ombré Nails
These aren’t your average 3D nails. “This manicure fuses both glitter ombré and crystal healing,” Hanna says. “Labradorite for psychic intuition, citrine for manifestation, clear quartz for clarity, pyrite for abundance, and moonstone for new beginnings. The glitter and crystals were encapsulated using ORLY Builder In a Bottle ($55).”
Bedazzled Gold Glitter Ombré Nails
Hoping for an even bolder nail look? Add gold gemstones to your gold glitter ombré mani. It will create a 3D mod look.
Balletcore Glitter Ombré Nails
Balletcore remains a key source of fashion inspiration here in 2024, so it’s a no-brainer for a glitter ombré manicure aesthetic. And the little bow detail? It completed the look.
Cocoa Brown Glitter Ombré Nails
This brown glitter ombré manicure looks great with celestial gems as well as on its own. It was created using Cirque Colors Nail Polish ($15) in the shades Space Cowboy and Pony Up.
Charcoal Glitter Ombré Nails
We love an emoji-inspired sparkle nail design. To take it up a notch, pair the star-like design with actual shimmer. The charcoal glitter polish used here is the Mooncat Nail Lacquer ($15) in the shade Blame My Star Sign.
Champagne Ombré Glitter Cutout Cuticles
For a unique ombré glitter application, concentrate the shimmer in the center of your nail with a cutout cuticle accent. Use the Orly Half Moon Guides ($7) as stencils for crisp lines.
Encapsulated Gold Confetti Queen Nails
Nailing Hollywood artist Morgan A. Dixon created this fun encapsulated glitter ‘Queen’ manicure using an acrylic overlay. You can achieve a similar look with an appointment at your local nail salon.
Neon Ombré Glitter Cuticles
While many glitter polishes come in silver and gold, brightly colored options exist, too. Check out this peachy-pink confetti look. Fun, no?
Gold Star Glitter Ombré Nails
Don’t feel like you have to stick to one type of glitter when creating your sparkly ombré nail look. “Mixing and matching different glitter shapes of the same color gives off a chic but fun vibe,” Hanna says.
Gold Glitter Ombré Neutral Nails
Here’s further proof that glitter ombré manicures can be neutral, glam—whatever you want, really. To recreate this one, start with a pinky-nude base and top it off with a light swipe of gold glitter polish.
Orange and Red Ombré Glitter Nails
Red and orange shimmer nail polish make for a spicy ombré glitter nail look. To DIY this mani, grab bottles of Cirque Colors Nail Polish ($11) in the shades Pele and Bird of Paradise.
Magenta Ombré Glitter Nails
You can’t go wrong with magenta for an instantly eye-catching ombré glitter nail look. We love how this one features French tips and aura accents.
Pink and Blue Ombré Glitter Nails
This pink and blue glitter ombré mani would work well for a gender reveal. To create a similar look, use holographic polishes like the Holo Taco Disco Dust ($13) and Crystal Skies ($14).
Pink Confetti Ombré Glitter Nails
As much as we love ultra-fine glitter, chunky ombré shimmer nail looks are fun, too. You can achieve a similar look using the Ella + Mila Starbright Polish ($7). (P.S. If you can’t find a glitter polish that you love, Nailing Hollywood Artist LaTara Haye says to get crafty. “There are artists that like to create custom glitters using glitters from places like Hobby Lobby or Michaels,” she says. “Custom glitters also help to save money for nail products. This is a great option for DIY!”)
Purple Ombré Glitter Nails
This soft shimmer color shift reminds us of wisteria and spring. To recreate it, use the Death Valley Nails Nail Polish in the shades West Texas Peyote ($16) and Stained Glass.
Sunset Ombré Glitter Nails
If you love waking up with sunrise and winding down with sunset, consider an ombré glitter nail look that mimics both. All you need is shimmery peach and mustard nail polishes, a sponge, a touch-up brush, and top coat. Sponge the colors on for the ombré effect, clean it up with the brush, and finish with top coat.
Turquoise Ombré Glitter Nails
Not sure what kind of ombré glitter mani you want? Try something different on each nail.
Ombré Glitter
We love the look of this shimmery tie-dye manicure. If only the Cirque Colors California Dreamin’ Collection still existed. Luckily, if you take this to your local nail salon, they’ll likely have colors to recreate a super similar look.
