Although it seems like we had just gotten used to our snowflake nails, the time has come to start planning our spring 2024 manicures. While winter 2023/2024 nail trends were all about dark reds, and light icy blues, and earthy colors inspired from our favorite beverages, warmer weather calls for something brighter and bolder on our fingers. This of course, means pastels, like every spring, but for 2024, we’re also about textured designs and luxurious embellishments that bring vibrancy to our looks. It’s also about updating and elevating last year’s neutral favorites, like latte nails, to completely new, polished looks.
Whether you like your nails simple and chic, or big and bold, there’s no better time to get inspired and try out a new manicure. So get ready to turn up the texture, try glamorous gold, or keep it pretty pink, because these are the big nail trends you could be asking your nail tech for this spring.
Texture will be the new way to do chrome
After dominating 2023, the ultra-shiny chrome manicure is here to stay. But this time, there’s a twist. We’ll still be reaching for our chrome powders, but this time, we’re upgrading them by adding some volume.Think lace, think swirls, or even embellishments that take your chrome into Chromatica territory. Anything that sits raised on the nail is perfect to upgrade your chrome look.
Chocolate milk nails are the new coffee nails
Coffee-inspired manicures have been extremely popular for a while (latte nails in particular have been huge), but those looking to refresh their brown look will delighted to hear that spring brings a new beverage-inspired trend: Chocolate milk nails. This look is all about, you guessed it, making your nails look like they’ve been dunked in chocolate milk. And it looks just as delicious as it sounds. Think creamy, warm browns with a shiny finish or a mix of shades swirled onto each nail.
Bring some floral to your French manicure
It’s pretty safe to say that a French manicure will always be in. The chic and understated style is an absolute classic, after all. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways to modernize it and make it a little more fun. The way to do that for spring 2024? Flowers! Yep, floral manicures are set to be hot for spring, and bringing a few floral pieces of nail art to the tips is a cute and novel way to get ready for the sunshine that’s on its way. Whether you’re a fan of daisies or dandelions, placing a few petals on your nails is guaranteed to be a winning look this spring.
Gold tips will be hot too
Talk about giving your nails the Midas touch, because this spring, we’re going for gold! Dress up a French manicure with shiny metallic gold tips or a glamorous and elegant look. There are a few ways to achieve the mythical style, from adding a foil to your talons to using a shiny gold lacquer.
Show off your pink love
While 2023 was all about in-your-face Barbie pink thanks to the “Barbie” movie, 2024 will continue see the traditionally feminine shade reign as a popular shade. But this year’s pink look is a little more understated. For spring, delicate pale pink will be the go-to pastel nail shade. According to lead nail artist Leanne Woodley who spoke to Harper’s Bazaar, the trend will be known as balletcore and is similar to the sophisticated bubble bath nail trend we saw in 2023. Make it your own by adding some shimmer.
Lilac will be the color of the moment
Along with pale pink, it looks like spring 2024 will be all about lilac. The light purple hue is expected to be everywhere, which is great for a season when we’re started to swap out the darker colors in our wardrobes for a more sunny and light color palette. It’s light, cool tone beautifully mimics the petals of one of our favorite spring flowers, making it a great option for those who aren’t ready to commit to an actual floral design. The best part? This shade can look stunning on pretty much any skin tone.
