Nicki Minaj is returning to the UK with a series of shows to mark the European leg of her Pink Friday 2 tour.
The tour coincides with the rapper’s fifth studio album Pink Friday 2, which came out on 8 December.
Her new release comprises 22 tracks, spread over 70 minutes, and includes guest spots from Drake, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, Future and more.
Writing about her album on her website, the 41-year-old Queen of Rap wrote: “I just want to make great music. Simply for the sake of creating great music. What’s wrong with that? Music that ppl will always remember b/c of that incredible feeling they had the very first time they heard it. Music that makes them feel happy, confident, hopeful…sad, introspective, nostalgic.
“Music that expresses their thoughts on relationships at a time where ppl are so afraid to fall in love b/c they have to protect their hearts from being embarrassed on Facebook…”.
Pink Friday 2 comes 13 years after her landmark album Pink Friday.
Minaj is the first woman to score 100 Billboard Hot 100 Hits, with 133 total entries to date (the most among female hip-hop acts).
These include three number ones, more than 70 Top 40 hits (also a record among female hip-hop acts), and 23 Top 10s (another record among female hip-hop acts).
As a songwriter, she holds the record for the Most Billboard Hot 100 Entries Among Women in the 2010s.
