General Booty is shaping up to be the best armour in the ULM offense. With a 2-0 record, Booty’s team are probably facing their toughest challenge today, going against Texas Longhorns in Week 4. The Oklahoma transfer gathered some middling stats after successfully transitioning his gifts to the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks. In his first two games, General had some good plays and was an able game manager. While the team’s run game was sufficient to crush their opponents, it’s apparent that Booty can use his arm whenever required.

To topple the ULM’s strongest opponent on the card, Texas Longhorns, Booty needs to bring out a sharper display of his prowess during Saturday’s clash. If you are a regular college football follower, you are surely familiar with a slew of hilarious nicknames bearing on legendary football figures like Ha-Ha Clinton Dix, Hot Rod Fitten, and many more. However, when it comes to the current ULM sensation, General Booty, it is even more surprising, as it is neither his nickname nor what he was born with. Yes, you heard it right!

The University of Louisiana-Monroe quarterback’s pen and paper name would have been Maximus Axel Booty if his father hadn’t been fascinated by the military. Despite being a Louisiana State Wide Receiver by profession, Abram had his heart and soul devoted to the men in the uniforms. Hence, the Shreveport native has decided to use ‘general’ in the name if he ever had a son. Mother Amy Booty, an LSU alumna, happily agreed to the wish. Although his parents tried to call him by his middle name initially, the child only responded to General. The overwhelming Bootys’ took it as a sign of his consent and carried it forward.

Little did they know that the name would stand out not just in the limited periphery of college football but in the entire nation. Can the 22-year-old put more value on his unique nametag, pulling in more records for the Warhawks? Saturday will extend a grand chance.

Can General Booty be a cynosure among the Warhawks in their biggest challenger, the Longhorns?

Booty brought out a lot to the table, including an ever-lacking stability to the ULM offense that went to a real flux under former coach Terry Bowden. From 2020 to 2023, the Warhawks even struggled to rack up 22.3 points overall, placing themselves below the 20-point entrance in recent times.

The son of a former Louisiana WR sacrificed his friends and long-standing comfort in Oklahoma just to expand his horizon under the mind-blowing stewardship of coach Bryant Vincent, something that he got a glimpse of beforehand. ‘‘His vision for the program, along with the staff and team he has put together, was very impressive.”, said Booty after his landmark departure.

The starting quarterback already lived up to his reason, but there’s much more to be reflected on as he is going to test his caliber against one of the rising stars of college football, Arch Manning. Both have a celebrated sports family line and close stats tally, the fight is expected to be nerve wrecking.

Booty showcased relatively slower passing efficiency than Mannings and couldn’t post a single touchdown so far. A restored grip on these factors might lead him to take his status toward following Saturday’s fight.
