WWD Korea and Seoul Business Agency hosted an interactive, futuristic fashion event called Runway to Seoul on Sunday featuring K-pop performances and fashion shows at DDP Oullim Square.
The shows featured designs by 8 by Yoox, L.e.e.y, Oridnarypeople, Nache, Niche2night, Kowgi and Mina Chung. In partnership with Gallieriex, Runway to Seoul presented AR/XR experiential fashion booths with interactive content about the clothes in the shows “as 3D art objects,” organizers said in a statement.
K-pop group Kiss of Life, DJ250 and hip-hop artist Kimximyada performed, as did dance group D’Auspice.
WWD Korea invited buyers, stylists and celebrities to attend, including Shanghai Ontimeshow, China’s largest fashion showroom company, which aims to pave the way for small fashion companies to move into the global market.
The event started in Seoul, but the goal is to expand it to fashion capitals around the world, including New York, Paris and Milan in order to expand Korean culture and fashion globally.
WWD Korea and the Seoul Business Agency also partnered with Hera, Juno Hair, Seven Broye, Dipe, Galleriex, Backslash and Mirrorloid to cohost the Runway to Seoul event.
