When someone gets engaged, most people want to see the ring first. But right now, our eyes are locked on Zooey Deschanel‘s pretty-in-pink engagement manicure instead. Better still, this on-trend nail look is so easy to recreate.
On August 14, the Almost Famous actress shared the exciting news of her engagement with an Instagram post featuring her and now-fiancé Jonathan Scott from the Property Brothers franchise, smiling while showing off her engagement ring and monochromatic manicure.
Her short nails were filed into a slightly rounded square shape. A baby-pink nail polish was painted on her thumb, middle, and ring fingernails, whereas her index and pinky nails were more of a Barbie-pink hue.
We love that this manicure is colourful and has more than one shade because it’s more exciting than your standard everyday nail look. But it’s still easy to recreate and doesn’t require extra tools like some other nail-art designs.
Zooey hasn’t revealed the exact nail polish shades used (unsurprisingly, given that she is likely preoccupied with more important things, like her future nuptials), but we have a few recommendations in a similar fashion.
For the baby-pink colour, we suggest Essie Nail Polish in Fiji while Gucci Vernis À Ongles Nail Polish in Vantine Fuchsia and OPI’s Nail Lacquer in Strawberry Margarita are great options for the hot-pink shade.
