5 Nail Designs For The Holidays

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

The holidays are right around the corner, which means it’s time to decide how to do your nails for the season! If you are indecisive or just don’t know where to start, don’t worry. Hopefully, one of these five recommendations will be the perfect choice for you!

Dark red

While basic, this is a very popular color right now, specifically the color “Wicked” by Essie. These nails will certainly get you ready for the holidays while still keeping it simple and classy. If you want to have your hot girl moment, dark red is the perfect option.

mistletoe

If solid red is too plain for you, consider adding some painted-on sprigs of mistletoe.

I wasn’t sure if this design would be too much, but after scrolling through Pinterest, the idea has grown on me. While a little extra, they are certainly stylish and festive! I think these are a great choice for the holidays if you want something basic, but not necessarily something that everyone will have.

gold

If you aren’t fully committed to doing holiday nails but still want to be somewhat on theme, gold is a great choice that gives a nice, effortless touch. They’re perfect if you don’t want to be too bold, but don’t want bare nails either. Plus, they match almost anything!

candy cane

While a candy-cane-striped design is old news, it’s a staple in holiday nails! If you want to be a little extra festive, this design will be the perfect, eye-catching choice for any holiday party!

There are also many ways you can execute these. From just doing them on select nails to adding in some other festive colors, the candy cane possibilities could go on all season long!

Snowflake french tips

Rather than the classic French tip, try spicing it up for the holidays and add some snowflakes! This cute yet simple design is perfect for girls who may not want anything too extreme. Experiment with different color options like white or blue, and make this design unique to you!

I hope you find your new holiday design – happy polishing!
