“Who got Next”

“Who got Next” Female Edition

FemaleHiphopNow

What it do y’all? We are back with another edition of Female hip hop now, and this time we are bringing 2020 to an end. This year has been fantastic for Women in the music industry. The women of hip hop carried the genre from some of our favorites like Megan The Stallion, and the City Girls, who took over the billboard this year. Also, Doja cat had a good year being the most versatile female artist in 2020. We had artists like Mullatto and Flo Milli, who both had a huge breakout year with both of them dropping great projects that caught mainstream attention and had Twitter talking for weeks. Now let’s focus on the girls up next for the 2021 year, seeing that female presence in hip hop isn’t going anywhere for a long time. We can celebrate these rap girls who are just starting and to gain some mainstream buzz. Artists like Pap Chanel, Ceefineass, Big Jade, and Yvette. These four girls got next, in the hip hop industry for the year 2021.

Pap Chanel

Many of yall heard of Pap Chanel from her First day out freestyle that went viral in 2017. Well, Pap Chanel has been on the grind dropping music and videos, taking full advantage of her opportunity. Pap Chanel caught my attention by her name, which “Pap” is the abbreviated form of the phrase “Pretty and Paid.” Over the last two years, I kept up and watched Pap Chanel music and visuals develop. With every new single, Pap Chanel gets better and better. Some of her past single I liked is “I’ll be good,” “Self made,” and “No chill.” In the year 2020, Pap Chanel dropped a project titled “Pretty and Paid.” This project was excellent and super underrated, in my opinion. For one, she only has one major artist featured (Black Youngsta) on this album. This is a perfect choice because it allows the fans and new listeners to focus on her talent. The project jams from start to finish with standout tracks “Nobody,” “2-way street,” and “Perfect.” One of my personal favorites from the project is “Country Girl” because I’m a country girl in a big city. I can, for sure, relate to that song. Even with her dropping a project in the middle of the pandemic, she still applied pressure and stayed consistent for her fans and dropped another single titled “Gucci Bucket hat” ft Future. Pap Chanel is an artist/rapper to look out for in the year 2021.

Yvette

Yvette is another rapper that has next for the year 2021. Yvette is from St. Louis, Missouri, just like other Midwest hip-hop legends that came before her, and she is putting on for her city in a significant way. I ran across Yvette’s music on youtube. The song that caught my attention was titled the “Ratchet twerk song” everything about this song screamed cut up with your homegirls and we outside vibes. What I loved about her was her confidence and fun energy in the video. The song was just a reminder that you should feel like the baddest b*tch alive no matter what. Over the past two years, I continued to look and listen to Yvette’s other released music. I ran across songs titled “Bad Bitch” “Da baby freestyle,” “Problems” ‘Up,” “Dog ass,” and “Big Yvette.” These songs are fire and give off the vibe of ratchet but still the baddest in the building vibes. This past summer of 2020, even amid the pandemic, Yvette has always managed to give us some new music and videos for a single “Outside” that tells a creative story of the party girl who can’t be cuffed because she loves to have fun. She has also dropped two more singles on SoundCloud titled “Talk that sh*t freestyle” and “Sex talk freestyle” Even though Yvette hasn’t dropped an official project yet, she still is a female artist/rapper you should look out for in 2021.

CeeFineAss

Another artist on the lookout for 2021 is Ceefineass from New Orleans, Louisiana. New Orleans is the home of many southern hip-hop legends like Master P, Lil Wayne, and Mia X.  Ceefineass follows the greats’ footsteps before her. I first ran across Ceefineass music on youtube while listening to bounce music. Her song titled “Mad” popped up, and I like the song and have been hooked ever since. The more I started listening, the more I like her music and the energy in her videos. CeeFineass music and her videos remind me of summertime and New Orleans culture. CeefineAss makes music for people who just want to have a good time. Over the past few years, Ceefineass has dropped numerous songs on youtube and SoundCloud. Some of her highlighted singles are “Boss B*tch,” “Pay Back,” and “Mirror Mirror.” So far, CeefineAss has also found a way to keep the New Orleans traditional bounce sound but still adapt to classic southern hip hop style beats. Her versatility is one reason why she is the hottest female artist in her city. Also, in 2020 CeefineAss dropped more singles “Cocky” featuring Pooh Shiesty. “Creeping part 1 and 2,” and “Gossip.” CeefineAss dropped a project titled “Welcome to my city” in 2021. The tape has features from Memphis heavy-hitting artists Money bagg yo and Pooh shiesty. The album is so New Orleans and a great way to end the 2021 year. Be sure y’all stay on the lookout for CeefineAss in 2021.

Big Jade

Big Jade is from Port Arthur, Texas. Many of y’all know about Port Arthur, Texas, from hip hop legendary group UGK made up of two rappers Bun B and Pimp c (R.I.P). Well, Big Jade is following the path these two paved to mainstream recognition. I first saw Big Jade on youtube in an interview and instantly like her stand up personality. I decided to check out her music and loved what I heard. Big jade has been in the rap game for about four years. Big Jade faced a minor setback in 2019, but the little set back was matched by a major come up. In the year 2020, Big Jade came into the female hip hop game swinging and showing hip hop fans that she can rock with anyone. After watching her interviews, I decided to look into Big Jade’s music, and I loved what I heard. The first song and visual I listened to was titled “F*CK Niggas,” and I loved the rawest of her voice and the fierceness of her lyrics. I instantly added her to my “female rappers to look for” playlist on youtube. Over the past few years, Big Jade has dropped the right amount of singles and music videos. The one video that caught the world’s attention was her remix to Shawnna’s song “RPM.” Big Jade flow and visual was like a breath of fresh air to the rap game. What I loved most about the video was to see her doing a client’s hair while rapping. This showed the world that Big Jade wasn’t just a rapper and had many talents and hustles. In the year 2019, Big Jade dropped a project titled “Free Big Jade.” The project was 10/10 with hits like “Big Smoke,” “Period Pooh,” “Let me see it,” and “Turning me on.” These just some of the fan favorites on the project. My favorite song on the project is “F his mama.” In the year 2020, Big Jade also dropped some solid singles titled “Respectfully” and “First day out,” along with other freestyles showing off her rapping skills. The year 2021 will be a break out year for Big Jade giving female hip hop fans a new artist to support. Y’all be sure to stay on the lookout for Big Jade.
