Akuma and Ed’s Outfit 3 concept art revealed for Street Fighter 6 which also shows the demon’s booty

Although it took almost an extra six months than the rest, all of Street Fighter 6’s Year 1 DLC characters are about to receive their third costume choice in the game.

The Outfit 3 designs for Akuma, Ed, Rashid and A.K.I. were fully unveiled just a few days ago, and now we can get a better look at what the two most recent characters are wearing.

Capcom has shared a couple new pieces of concept art for Akuma and Ed’s new digs after previously doing the same for Rashid and A.K.I.

Like the last two, the posts include comments from unnamed SF6 designers who presumably worked on the new costumes to discuss what they’re meant to represent.

Ed’s is a bit easier since it’s a re-work of his default Street Fighter 5 design in the Neo Shadaloo uniform with a long leather coat instead of the weird half cape, but the developer notes the owl symbol placed on the boxer’s shoulder.

They say it’s meant to show his “dignity and prestige” as he takes on more of a true leader role.

The art shows a complete version of the owl symbol by itself as well as Ed without the coat entirely.

Akuma’s may be a bit more interesting, however, since his costume apparently pulls some inspiration from the real world.

The designer comments on his states it was based on the concept of Akuma living on an island in the Sea of Japan.

Moreover, they also specifically mention “Gojinjo-daiko,” which are traditional drum performances where the drummer wears a similar mask and kimono, although obviously not as torn up.

It goes on to say how Akuma’s muscles “look less human than ever,” so they were more particular about how his kimono was torn up — exposing his red loincloth also included in the art showing off the demon’s front and back sides.

These four new outfits will be coming to SF6 on May 22 alongside Akuma and the new balance update, which signals the end of Season 1 content.

Capcom previously showcased over 30 scrapped designs for the DLC characters that never made it into the game (yet) including an updated Cyber Akuma.

If you haven’t seen them already, we also showed off what all of the color choices look like for the new Outfit 3 DLC too.
