Wake Forest’s Friday Night on White Returns with Sleeping Booty Set to Energize Downtown on May 9

Wake Forest is gearing up for an evening of music and dining as the local favorite, Sleeping Booty, takes center stage tonight on White (FNOW). According to the official Town of Wake Forest announcement, the free concert promises to draw crowds from 6-9 p.m. along South White Street in the heart of downtown.

The event is not only about the tunes but also about the taste buds, with multiple dining options available. In an effort to keep attendees sated, downtown restaurants will be opening their doors, complemented by a variety of food and dessert trucks parked in the Depot Parking Lot at 110 S. White St., and on East Owen Avenue. Among the wide selection, food lovers will find VFW Chuck Wagon, Virgil’s Jamaica, The Flat Drum, and many other options, as listed on the Town’s website.

Beer and wine enthusiasts won’t be left dry during the festivities. While no outside alcohol or coolers are allowed, White Street Brewing and Norse Brewing will start selling tokens and tickets, respectively, at 5 p.m., which can be redeemed for pints at the event. Several beer serving stations and a wine serving station will be strategically placed throughout the festival area, offering convenience and a chance to enjoy a cold one with the music. Keep in mind, last call for beer and wine sales is scheduled for 8:50 p.m., wrapping up shortly before the event comes to a close at 9:30 p.m.

Parents are reminded to keep an eye out on their youngsters, maintaining a pleasant atmosphere for all. Those sharing the night’s memories on social media can tag their posts with #FNOW and #FridayNightonWhite. And for the planning types who prefer not to drive, the Wake Forest Town Hall at 301 Brooks St. is the recommended Uber and Lyft destination and pickup point. Free parking is available at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, with additional spots along side streets and lots in the area—just be sure to check if you’re in a private, customers-only lot or a public one for FNOW attendees.

In the case of bad weather, updates will be posted on the Town website and through various social platforms including the Town app. The remaining 2025 Friday Night on White lineup includes names like Bounce! Party Band and Liquid Pleasure, promising a diverse range of acts to keep the town entertained throughout the summer.

A slew of sponsors are backing this year’s FNOW series, ranging from local eateries to healthcare providers. A special nod goes out from the organizers to the 2025 FNOW sponsors, which include White Street Brewing Company, CBS 17, and the Wake Forest Area Chamber, among many other supporters, for making the event possible.
