Yugambeh/Gold Coast-based reggae pop trio Bootleg Rascal have announced a 2025 national tour.
The Booty Block Party takes in seven cities nationwide but surprisingly skips Sydney. The reason – the cost of living crisis.
“We thought we’d go all out and do every capital city but Sydney. We’ve been out priced of the accommodation for hotels there, so unless someone has a tent we can pitch in their backyard, then it’s no Sydney for now,” guitarist Jimmy Young explained.
“If anyone is keen to hook us up though, please shout out; Carlos said he has a lot of experience pitching a tent, so we’ll be pretty self-sustainable.”
While gutting for Sydneyisders, it’s great news for everyone else, with the band hitting every capital city in Australia, even journeying to Perth and Darwin.
Bootleg Rascal’s Booty Block Party tour commences at The Espy in Naarm/Melbourne on Sunday, March 9. The tour continues with dates at Crown & Anchor in Tarndanya/Adelaide on Friday, March 14, Port Beach Brewery in Boorloo/Perth on Saturday, March 15 and Darwin Railway Club in Larrakia/Darwin on Saturday, March 22.
The final stretch of the tour takes in the Altar in Lutruwita/Hobart on Friday, March 28, The Brightside in Meanjin/Brisbane on Saturday, March 29 and The Basement in Ngunnawawl/Canberra on Friday, April 4.
Bootleg Rascal aren’t going out on the road alone, with Danté Knows, Dear Sunday, Dizzy Days, and Tasman Keit coming along as support.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now via bootlegrascal.com.
