Nagpur: Valuables worth around ₹5 lakh, including cash ₹4 lakh, were stolen from the residence of Khan family at Noorie Colony, when they had gone to Saudi Arabia for a pilgrimage between August 5 and 29. Breaking open the front door lock and latch, the burglars decamped with the valuables.
In yet another incident, unidentified burglars decamped with valuables worth around ₹4 lakh from the residence of the Bawankar family at Sharda Nagar in Pardi.
Man arrested for stalking students
A 29-year-old man, Vijay Etre, was arrested for allegedly stalking and harassing three college-going students over the last few weeks, before he was taken into custody on Saturday.
Etre, who had started stalking the three teenagers since the last week of August, intercepted one of the survivors, aged around 16 years, on her way home from college. Etre had tried to hold her hand and also demanded her cellphone number. The teenager approached Hingna police with her family members.
Five arrested for ransacking bar
An offence of dacoity was registered against five persons involved in creating ruckus inside a bar at Kandri in Kanhan. Armed with swords and sticks, they damaged furniture and utensils before decamping with ₹1,000 in cash. TNN
