Fraser Preferred winner goes back-to-back

After 12 losses to start the year, If Only Id Known (Shadow Play) won her second straight harness racing contest on Thursday (Nov. 30) in the Fillies and Mares Preferred at Fraser Downs.

She trudged forward on the rim for Scott Knight through the quarter in :27.1 to get past Grey Sea (John Abbott) at the half in :57. Grey Sea reignited their battle as she went first-up nearing three-quarters in 1:25.2.

The battling pair were level at the third station and fought around the turn, with the leader pulling back out a one-length cushion. Grey Sea gained marginally to the line, but If Only Id Known held on to score in 1:55.4.

Grey Sea was short by three-quarters-of-a-length. Pirate Booty (Terry Kaufman) closed from fifth to third.

IF ONLY ID KNOWN REPLAY

If Only Id Known is now 15-for-72 lifetime with $168,693 in earnings. The mare was winless in 12 to start the season but has won both of her last two for owners Christohper Lancaster of Aidrie and Velda Olding of Abbotsford. Kelly Hoerdt trains the five-year-old.

Fraser Downs hosts an eight-race card on Friday, Dec. 1, featuring a Preferred-Handicap Pace.
