Gunna Launches New Clothing Line, ‘P by Gunna’

From rhymes to designs, Gunna delivers style ‘P’rowess with the launch of “P by Gunna.”

On Friday (May 17), fans got their first look at the collection, featuring motocross jackets, hoodies, washed bottoms paired with matching tops —each adorned with a p-star logo — via X (formerly Twitter).

The soft launch received a warm reception from fans. “wait he kinda ate this,” exclaimed one user.

“Wait some of this looks good asf,” commented another. “Oh he bouta fuc da streets up,” a third response reads.

Earlier this week, the “fukumean” rapper gave a sneak peek of the line—sporting an ensemble from the new collection—while chatting with a reporter. “P-Star. Rocking the P-Star brand you know — exclusive. It’s not out. It’s on the way though,” he said.

Unfortunately for Gunna, his latest venture has already encountered controversy, as an artist by the name of Rajeev has accused the rapper of imitating his style. In a video circulating on social media, Rajeev discloses an email he received in 2018 from the Vice President of YSL Records expressing interest in collaborating with him.

Rajeev further claimed that shortly afterward, he created his brand’s “P” logo, which had been in existence for about two years, garnering support from fans who utilized the blue “P” emoji. Gunna subsequently posted a photo in Rajeev’s neighborhood with a “P” emoji and began promoting “pushin P.” Rajeev showcased t-shirts his brand sold in 2020, akin in color to the jacket Gunna wore on his billboard, both adorned with the “P” logo.

Gunna’s dive into the crossroads of Hip Hop and fashion forward pieces follows the likes of Tyler, the Creator, who in December 2011 and June 2016 founded GOLF WANG and GOLF le Fleur, respectively, with a spotlight on footwear and accessories.

Another rapper who has successfully made his mark in streetwear is Travis Scott, whose collaboration with Nike sparked a frenzy with the late-October release of the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG Golf ‘Neutral Olive.’ His collection also featured complete looks, offering everything from stylish tees to comfy hoodies adorned with top-notch embroidered graphics.
