Hoboken Beauty Businesses Are Having a Moment — 11 New Spots in Town
Here in the Mile Square, we’re known for having a high density of bars and restaurants. But by the end of 2023, we’ll also be known for having an incredible amount of beauty service spots. In addition to our already-stellar lineup of service providers, over a half-dozen new businesses have opened or will open throughout the rest of the year. Let’s take a look at Hoboken’s class of 2023 beauty newcomers.
Local entrepreneur Sandra Gail Frayna, PT founded Aspen Prime Medspa when she saw the need for an elevated beauty concierge service. Naturally detail-oriented, Sandra is focused on learning + growing with the aesthetics industry and has a passion for helping clients. This passion motivated her to open Aspen Prime Medspa as a haven where guests can indulge in beauty and wellness in a luxury setting. Read more about Aspen Prime here.
Lauren Ben-Meir of Hoboken’s Attain Med Spa recently debuted a new part of her business called Attain Total Health — a “comprehensive health and wellness program designed to empower patients and provide them with knowledge about their own bodies so they can make educated decisions regarding their health”, per the website. Aside from health + wellness assessments, the program will also provide personalized treatment recommendations, referrals to providers, and more.
The team behind Bond Salon will be opening a second location in Hoboken later this summer, called BOND. BOND will be located at 425 Washington Street. BOND will be an expanded studio space with the same offerings as Bond Salon, according to Michael Enzo Trivett founder of BOND. Stay tuned for more information as the space opens.
This brand-new salon opened in August 2023 and provides men’s and women’s cuts, color treatments, and extensions. We don’t know much about this newcomer, but we’re excited to learn more as the salon opens its doors.
New Jersey native Grace Sibilia founded Graceful Beauty at the beginning of 2023 with her team who also provide professional makeup application and cosmetic injectable services. Grace is a licensed Oncology Certified Aesthetician and wants every client to relax, and leave the spa knowing they are feeling their best. Grace specializes in bridal services, acne treatments, and anti-aging transformations.
The team at Laser Away will focus on non-invasive aesthetic treatments of the whole body and while its focus is primarily on laser treatments for hair and tattoo removal, the team will also provide other treatments in a relaxing yet sophisticated environment. Some of the popular treatments include acne scar removal, body contouring, facials, and injectables such as Botox, Juvederm, Clear + Brilliant, and VelaShape, just to name a few. Moxie is a full-service salon and beauty bar founded by twin sisters Jenn and Jamie Dunn who have proudly grown their business throughout the tri-state area. Plump Cosmetics and Injectables has opened its doors in Hoboken. The spa is located at 415 Washington Street. The Hoboken location is the seventh location of the company, which has locations in Manhattan and Miami.
Skin by EC, formerly known as EC Beauty, is a longtime Hoboken go-to for skin and body care. In addition to the name change, the rebranding of the studio included a refresh to the logo, colors, fonts, images, decor, and overall brand look and feel. The spa was founded by Erica Cerpa in 2007.
Skin Laundry, a laser facial chain, is perhaps the most elusive member of the class of 2023. HG was tipped off to its plans to open in Hoboken by two job listings on its website, but no location has been announced, and there is nothing mentioned about a Hoboken location on the company website. While the chain has locations throughout the US, a Hoboken location would be its first in New Jersey. Read more here.
Let’s call this Jersey City Heights spot a ‘distinguished alumnae’ of the Hoboken beauty scene, since there used to be a SW3AT Wellness Studio right near the PATH Station up until this spring. This new version of SW3AT Wellness will feature expanded offerings including yoga, meditation, a sound bath, a salt room, private infrared sauna suites, and practitioner rooms for rent as a community space.
