Katy Perry shared her reaction to the recent viral photo of her fiancé Orlando Bloom taking an admiring glance at Kim Kardashian‘s famous derriere.
The singer, 39, appeared on the Elvis Duran Show on Tuesday, where she discussed the image she and Orlando, 47, took with the reality star, 43.
‘It’s you taking a photo with Kim Kardashian, and Orlando is staring at her,’ the host said, while laughing. Katy chimed in, ‘at our,’ and Elvis completed the sentence, ‘at her butt.’
He went on, ‘I mean how could you not?’ Katy responded, ‘I approve.’
The hitmaker proved to be unbothered about the situation, as she asked, ‘So wait, what’s the controversy?’
‘There is no controversy,’ the host replied.
‘Oh great,’ she stated.
Elvis continued to read an article about the event Katy and Orlando attended, which described images of them with the actor’s hand ‘right above Katy’s butt.’
‘It’s been other places,’ she quipped, adding, ‘sorry to tell you. My daughter is four.’
The photo in question was taken on Monday night, at the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women Dinner in New York City.
The Lord Of The Rings actor was pictured in one hilarious moment as he appeared to glance down at fellow guest Kim’s prominent backside.
The actor — who looked particularly debonair in classic black tie attire — was seen looking down toward Kim’s behind while he stood next to his fiancée and had an arm placed on her side.
Despite the humorous display, Orlando and Katy looked affectionate as they embraced on the red carpet and shared some romantic kisses.
The Pirates Of The Caribbean actor looked particularly humorous in the snap with Kim and Katy thanks to a soft grin he displayed as he looked down in Kim’s direction.
He looked far more sober and serious in a photo from a similar angle again showing the three, though he stared into the camera that time.
Katy looked glamorous at the charity event, which supports organizations dedicated to ending gender-based violence, thanks to her teal sequin-covered off-the-shoulder gown.
Kim stunned in a contrasting shiny white plastic-like dress with ruching and intentional wrinkles running across it.
The photo of Orlando gawking at Kim was reminiscent of a buzzy photos from the 2016 Golden Globes ceremony that caught the actor gazing longing at his future love Katy.
The two weren’t dating at the time, but they began their relationship later that year.
Despite Orlando’s apparently wandering eye, his fiancée Katy has been friends with Kim for years.
In 2017, Kim delighted her eldest daughter North West by taking her to one of Katy’s concerts, which included a meet-and-greet with the singer–songwriter.
But it wasn’t until 2018 their friendship became more visible after fans noticed the two hanging out together at the Met Gala.
After some social media users remarked on photos of Katy admiring Kim’s nails, the Kardashians star revealed on Twitter that Katy had done her a major favor by flying her glue-on nails from Los Angeles to New York on her private jet.
The raven-haired beauties later traded jokes back-and-forth on social media when they poked fun at their over-the-top crying faces last year after Katy let some tears fall while working as a judge on American Idol.
Orlando wasn’t the only one who may have been charmed by Kim at the gala.
François-Henri Pinault, the president and CEO of the luxury conglomerate Kering, flashed a wide smile as he caught up with the social media star during the event.
Katy and Orlando’s outing comes after the pop star revealed that she ‘would be dead’ if she and her partner hadn’t taken a year-long break early in their relationship.
The couple began dating in 2016, but they separated a year later.
They reconciled in late 2018, got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019, and welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, in August 2020.
