Keke Palmer is in her prime. Taraji P. Henson said so, in the comments section of the 31-year-old’s most recent Instagram post so everyone could see (and agree).
What does it feel like to be in your prime? It’s hard to say. I think it’s more of a personal, innate understanding—you’ll know you’re there when you’re there.
It’s much easier to say what it looks like. If you’re Palmer, it’s bouncy copper curls, a bold lip, and a chic manicure.
Obviously, she’s one of a kind. But if you’re looking to get a little bit of that in-my-prime energy, I suggest you start by emulating her nail art.
Keke Palmer’s Pearly French Manicure
If you remember the studded and glazed French manicure that Palmer wore earlier this year for the Vanity Fairy Oscars after party, it’s fun to think of this look as an echo. Weeks later, the strong studs and lines have disappeared, but the energy remains.
Long and almond-shaped, Palmer’s current nails are mostly made up of a Bubble Bath-esque nude pink shade that subtly transitions to a pearly white color at her tips. It’s not an ombré—you can see the exact line where the tip begins—but the effect is similarly delicate.
Adding to that pearly allure, the tips feature a swirl of shimmer that is so fun when paired with the stack of rhinestoned bangles on her wrist.
Keke Palmer’s Copying Advice
“They can copy the output, but not the origin. They can chase the aesthetic but they’re not carrying the frequency,” wrote Palmer in her post’s caption. “You can be imitated but never duplicated, keep shining boo.”
She’s right! But I still think she’d be perfectly fine if your manicurist tried copying her nail art. Ask for a muted French manicure with a little pearly chrome powder buffed onto the tips so you can shine on, too.
