In keeping with their quick service and big flavor, Baddies Burgers plans to open a sister location in a short period of time and in a larger space. Owned by Athens restaurateur Joe Nedza, Baddies will join the Watkinsville culinary scene in late May 2024 with a shop at 1011 Park Drive.
Nedza told the Banner-Herald that the new Baddies will serve the same smash burgers, fries and signature banana pudding that his customers in Five Points are used to, but will also feature drive-thru service. Nedza said that the Watkinsville space, previously a Crab Hut location, will be opened and operated by a staff that has been training for the past few months.
“I have wanted to open multiple stores since the beginning, but I didn’t want to expand too fast,” said Nedza. “I personally felt ready to open another Baddies about six months ago, but when the space became available in December 2023, I knew we had to make a move.”
Nedza said that one of the reasons that he chose Watkinsville was because customers from the area who visited his Athens location at 1591 S. Lumpkin St. kept asking when he was going to open up another restaurant.
Baddies has been in business in Five Points since December 2022.
