The Best Long Coats For Women of Every Size

With two posts per day, I’ve been able to get more specific with my fashion. It’s typically very challenging to find an item that works for all body types, but finally, I’ve done just that. Today, I’m sharing the best long coats for women of every size. These coats are available in petite, regular, and plus-sized. Yay!

My husband has always been the “coat” person in our house until now. When I first met him, he would wear a trench coat all the time, and I never wore a coat at all. Now, I have coats in so many colors and patterns, and I love all of them. The Wool-blend lady day coat is a dressy coat that looks great with a dress or jeans. The forest green color is sold out, but they have a Notify Me option available if you love this color and want to grab it when it comes back in stock.

This Plaid Double Breasted Coat is a high-quality, well-made coat. I love the beautiful camel and gray color combination in the plaid pattern. Those are great neutrals, and the coat will look gorgeous with almost anything. I added a small Foldover Clutch, which perfectly matched the coat, and was ready to head out the door. I sized down to a small, and the coat was still very roomy and oversized.

This Ralph Lauren Double Breasted Wool Blend Coat is one of my favorite purchases from Nordstrom. I bought the coat around this time of the year, and I love wearing it in fall and winter. It is so chic and sophisticated looking and looks great with dresses as well as jeans. I’ve had this coat for a few years, and it is sold out in almost all sizes and colors. However, I found one that I’ve linked below that looks almost identical.

The Best Long Coats For Women – From Loft

See, don’t you think this looks just like the one I’m wearing above? I love this coat because it is a classic color and style, and you will be able to wear it for years.

Even though camel is a classic color you can wear for years, I LOVE adding bright colors to my wardrobe, especially in the winter. I have this coat on order, and I think it is arriving today. I can’t wait to try it on. I ordered a medium, and I’m hoping it fits!

A trench coat is another classic style that you can wear forever. Whenever I think about a trench coat, I think of the twill, not a wool version. This coat has a modern look but still has all the traditional details of a classic trench.

The Best Long Coats For Women of Every Size – From Talbots

I love this faux fur teddy coat from Talbot’s. It looks incredibly cozy! I like the blue, but it’s also available in brown. Click the link to see both options. It’s very chic, but it’s lightweight. Imagine a heavy, furry robe. 🙂 It would be VERY comfortable, but if you’re planning on going sledding or building snowmen, choose one of the others.

How gorgeous is this?! I love the colors and the chic silhouette. The wide lapels and buttons are nice details, and I love the length. It would be great to wear the second the leaves start to change and I’d wear it all winter long. The reviewers say that it runs large, so size down when ordering.

Here’s a great-looking coat for those of you in warmer climates. It’s very relaxed and casual yet still manages to be uber-chic. I love the single button and the contrasting cuffs and lapels. This hits right around the knee, so it would work well with pants or dresses. It’s nice enough to wear dressed up, but you could pair it with jeans and boots and look FABULOUS.

How can you go wrong with a hot pink military coat? The details make this coat! I love the military-style collar and the gold buttons on the front, and while you can’t see them, it also has gold buttons on the sleeves. Very chic! Of course, it’s fully lined and tailored for a flattering fit.

Here’s a gorgeous stadium coat in a great color. It’s officially called Mistletoe Green, and I think that’s the perfect name for it. I love how cheery it is. It’s a wool blend – 80% wool and 20% nylon. If you’re not a fan of the green, it also comes in festive red. The hidden zipper gives you a very clean look.

The Best Long Coats For Women of Every Size – The Gap

Puffer coats are very in, and it’s easy to see why. They are not only warm but have a casual chicness about them. This coat comes in black and green as well as brown. You can’t see it in this photo, but it has a tie belt, too.

The Best Long Coats For Women of Every Size – Old Navy

How chic is this Mauve overcoat from Old Navy?! The color is not something you see every day, and that’s why I like it. It’s a relaxed fit, and reviewers say it’s very comfortable. It’s not lined, but most people like that it’s not bulky. Old Navy clothing typically is very affordable. While this coat may look like you picked it up at an expensive store, the price tag won’t. It’s under $80 dollars!

Here’s a gorgeous bold plaid that is certain to turn heads! It looks great here with jeans. Oh, I want to throw this on with jeans, a turtleneck, and a jaunty scarf. How cute would that be! Of course, it would be totally appropriate with dress pants or a skirt and boots, too. It’s not a heavy coat, so it would work for slightly warmer climates.

No matter what size you’re wearing, I hope you found something you liked. Let me know if you’re grabbing one of these awesome long coats.
